Addison Rae has quickly become a new name in the industry, releasing a handful of singles receiving good critic reception, with her new self-titled debut LP, Addison releasing after an extensive build-up. This album features nostalgic and dreamy production, with tracks like Fame is a Gun being great dance pop tracks that set out to recreate older decades of pop music. What wasn’t working on this project was the sense of shallowness and lack of risks that weigh the album down. It feels like her record label forced her to appeal to current culture in songs like Money is Everything and High Fashion, which both feel like missed opportunities to apply some depth to this project that leaves the listener with something more than just a track you can hear at the club.
