Donald Trump slams Bad Bunny and Green Day ahead of Super Bowl

President Donald Trump has confirmed he won’t be attending the Super Bowl, as well as criticising musical performers Bad Bunny and Green Day.

Trump previously attended the Super Bowl in 2025, but with weeks to go until the Super Bowl arrives at the Levi’s Stadium in California, the president has ruled out an appearance at this year’s NFL decider.

Notably, both Bad Bunny, who will be performing at half time, and Green Day, who will be opening the ceremony, are vocal critics of the Trump regime.

In a new interview with the New York Post, Trump condemned both musical guests, telling the publication, “I’m anti-them”.

“I think it’s a terrible choice,” he also claimed, before adding of the musical heavyweights, “All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”

While Trump has no time for Bad Bunny or Green Day, he said that the Super Bowl being in Santa Clara is why he won’t be in attendance, claiming, “It’s just too far away,” and “I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”

Last week, during a performance at the Kia Forum in California, Green Day changed the lyrics to their hit song ‘Holiday’ in protest of the Trump administration’s brutality in Minnesota.

Billie Joe Armstrong sang, “This song is anti-fascism. This song is anti-war. We stand up for our brothers and sisters in Minnesota.”

Additionally, when they headlined Download Festival in the UK last summer, Armstrong led the crowd through a “you fat bastard” chant aimed at Trump, and also told those in attendance, “We are slipping into fascism. Donald Trump and his administration are a fascist government. It is up to us to fight back.”

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, who is Puerto Rican, was one of the first notable names to call out ICE after raids began, and also left the US off his world tour due to fears that it would put his audience at risk of being detained.

The Super Bowl is set to take place on February 8th, 2026.
