Anime footwear influence isn’t going anywhere, and Converse is diving back into that realm with a Naruto Shippuden collaboration.
Functionality reigns supreme with the Naruto Shippuden x Converse Collection. Four low-top sneakers represent each member of Team 7: Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi. Signature colorways and slight homages translate to each design. Shinobi clan symbols embroidered onto the heel of the shoe, and simple metallic lace dubraes mimic the headband plates seen throughout the anime.
Up top, the high-cut versions shift the tone slightly. One leans into Minato’s Hokage cloak, using stitching and paneling to echo his look. The other taps into Itachi’s Akatsuki ties, adding a Sharingan hit that anchors the theme without overdoing it.
Nothing here feels overbuilt. Instead, Converse sticks with subtle storytelling layered onto a classic frame, keeping the Chuck Taylor recognizable while still tied to the source material.
The Naruto Shippuden x Converse Collection release February 20th in Japan via Converse and atmos, with no U.S. release expected at this time.
