Converse Jack Purcell 2026

by Nicolas

Converse is revisiting the Jack Purcell under First String, the brand’s premium line focused on materials and construction. The White and Green colorway is set to release globally on September 8, 2026, through Converse.com. Pricing has not been announced.

Originally made in 1935 for badminton champion John Edward “Jack” Purcell, the shoe started as a competition model. Its low build and straightforward shape eventually carried it well beyond the court, becoming a regular part of casual style and fashion.

The First String release keeps that familiar look in place. White handles most of the upper, while green accents break up the design. Converse also retains the curved “smile” detail across the toe, the feature most closely tied to the Jack Purcell.

Rather than reshape the sneaker, Converse has tightened up the build with upgraded materials and a more refined finish. That approach fits the model. The Jack Purcell has always worked because it is simple, which is also why designers and fashion labels have returned to it for collaborations over the years.

The Converse First String Jack Purcell returns September 8, 2026, at Converse.com.
