Lil Uzi Vert starred in a campaign for the Vans Old Skool last summer, and his relationship with the California skate brand will go deeper with a multi-shoe collaboration.
The Lil Uzi Vert x Vans Lynzie and Slip-On both go heavy on pink accents. The former sneaker is a chunky archival model from 2008 and a perfect fit for the “mall Goth” aesthetic to which the rapper subscribes. Through product renderings and on-foot photos, Lil Uzi Vert previewed his take on the sneaker in black-and-white colorways, both of which are hit with pink trim and branding, including a special “Luv” hangtag and manga-inspired graphic insoles.
Also shown was a black and pink checkerboard Slip-On with a Chihuahua and “by Lil Uzi Vert” text added to the insole’s Vans logo.
With its puffy tongue and fat laces, the Lynzie is a relic of 2000s skate shoes and came before Vans streamlined its lineup to focus on a slate of classic models. It bears a strong resemblance to other shoes of the era from DC and Osiris, among other brands, which then dominated the market at the expense of Vans.
The early look at the collaboration comes via Lil Uzi Vert’s alternate Instagram account, aka his “finsta,” that just began posting this week. The rapper also showcased several new logos created for the collaboration on Tuesday.
The Lil Uzi Vert x Vans collaboration won’t release until 2027, as confirmed by the man himself, and Footwear News will keep you abreast as any new information becomes available.
