Vans’ Old Skool “Souvenir” sneakers were one of the biggest hits of 2025, and this summer is about to bring a fresh wave of variants for the Chanel-derived kicks.
The Vans Old Skool 36 “Souvenir” series will get four more colorways releasing from this weekend through August. While all feature the same arrangement of distressing, spray-paint motifs and tweed detailing including the Jazz Stripe, they deviate in their execution of colors and removable pins with options in “Asphalt” pink and grey, “Faded Black,” “Oatmeal” and “Navy.”
Previously released in brown and burgundy colorways, the “Souvenir” treatment is inspired by Chanel’s renowned Graffiti bag from Karl Lagerfeld’s spring 2014 collection. Hype came instantly for the Vans homage in the lead-up to its initial release last summer, and subsequent restocks sold out as quickly as the first drop.
Vans has since established a formula with the bag-to-sneaker pipeline. A duo of Slip-Ons looked to Chanel’s historic quilted bags, and the Authentic likewise borrowed from the luxury house’s La Habana bag from 2016. Also launched this month was a Loewe-influenced Authentic “Ibiza Pack” with a frayed punk aesthetic akin to the “Souvenirs.”
Greg Betty, who moved from Vans to Jordan Brand last year, was responsible for all these designs and has continued to share his mood board for each project even as they release past his tenure.
The Vans Old Skool 36 “Souvenir Asphalt” will first release Sunday exclusively through Undefeated’s website, followed by a wider launch through Vans and other third-party retailers June 25. The “Faded Black” and “Oatmeal” variants will follow July 23, and the run will close August 20 with “Navy.” Pricing for all four is set at $125.
