Offshore, Vans will release two paint splattered Old Skool 36 colorways on June 1, 2026. Billy’ s Ent will be exclusively releasing the sneakers overseas, while a wider release has yet to be announced.
The paint splatter is pretty much all you need to know about these colorways. The first pairs stay true to the Old Skool 36 blueprint by utilizing a Turtledove-esque canvas/suede upper with cream laces and olive Sidestripe. Splashes of black and white paint pepper the toe box, eyestays, panels and foxing. It’s enough paint to give the shoe some character, but not too much to make it feel over-the-top.
The darker colorway kicks off with a charcoal base. From there, an off-white Sidestripe snakes down the sides of the shoe while white paint splatter covers much of the forefoot and midsole. Small hits of deep red paint add a touch of aggression, but the shoe remains tasteful. Wearable skate shoe rather than aggressive graphic monster.
Both pairs maintain all the signatures of a traditional Vans offering: low-top silhouette, padded collar, contrast stitching, black foxing stripe and classic “Off The Wall” branding on the heel. Don’t sleep on the scuffed look of the midsole either. A crisp white sole would not have made much sense.
From Vans’ perspective, the Old Skool 36 “Paint Splatter” Pack needs little introduction. Stick to simple shapes, play with muted tones that you can actually wear and allow the splattered paint to do the talking.
